We believe that children never achieve their full potential if their time at school is wasted, and consequently we expect our staff to bring out the best in each and every student. Our diverse curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support, and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility – towards themselves, each other, their community and the wider world. We are seeking to appoint an energetic, enthusiastic and inspirational Design Technology Technician/Teaching Assistant with a strong commitment to working with young people in an educational setting. In these roles you will support the Design Technology department in the preparation for lessons and assist with practical lessons when required. To assist teachers and support teaching and learning you will be required to work with small groups of students.

We believe that all support staff within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of securing student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious individuals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.

Required to start in May 2019, the successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills which will allow them to engage with students and staff. You will also be highly organised and able to manage your time effectively. You should have 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or equivalent and be keen to undergo further development/education. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students. All offers of employment will be subject to enhanced DBS Checks.

If you are interested or have any further questions regarding this role, we invite you to contact Iain Combe, Head of DT. We also recommend you visit the academy where you will be very welcome.
