We offer an exciting opportunity to lead a team of 10 teachers and 2 technicians across and age range of 11-18. You will have leadership experience, be determined and driven and have the ability to transform student’s lives. You will work alongside a fantastic team to continue to achieve the highest possible outcomes for students irrespective of their backgrounds or starting points.

The role of Head of Science at Outwood Academy Newbold would be ideal for either an experienced Head of Department or someone looking to make that next step. You will be supported extensively by a team of Science Directors allowing you to strategically lead the department, whilst having the support and advice from the Director team. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to lead a progressive department and be pivotal in shaping their journey to world class.
In 2019, 70% of our students achieved level 4+ and 50% achieved level 5+ in both English and Mathematics and 67% 2 x 4+ and 46% 2 x 5+ in Science. The Science department has undergone rapid transformation over the past 4 years with results increasing year on year with a progress score of +0.02. The general trend for our A Level results are also increasing year on year where A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics are taught by specialist teachers.
