Serving the bustling city of Sheffield, Outwood Academy City was constructed in 2011 with state-ofthe-art facilities and joined Outwood Grange Academies Trust three years later. The school has
undergone a huge transformation for its 1000 students, with an innovative curriculum and a
personalised approach to learning enabling them to realise their vocational, practical, creative and
academic abilities. This was recognised by Ofsted in February 2019, when the academy was judged
‘Good with Outstanding Leadership’. Inspectors noted that, “Leaders and teachers demonstrate high
expectations for all pupils. They are determined that pupils achieve well in their subjects”.
We are looking for exceptional candidates for these roles in order to meet our total
commitment to our Academies and the children they support. To that end, you must meet
the following requirements:
The successful applicant will be required to work across the English curriculum to support
students with varying needs in small groups (2-4) or in a 1-2-1 setting.
We can offer:
Enthusiastic, professional, young people
A committed and supportive staff team
A positive learning environment
The successful applicant will put the needs of young people first, have a passion for learning,
excellent interpersonal skills and will be both ICT and emotionally literate. Tutors will be
required to prepare their own resources to meet the needs of the students but to also use
resources where directed by the HoD or the Director of English.
This post will be attractive to colleagues wishing to develop their practice in a school where
