Outwood Academy Valley is an outstanding school in the North of Nottinghamshire at the gateway to the famous Dukeries, including Clumber Park. Situated in Worksop, a vibrant town with a historic market centre and a mining heritage, we work closely with the town’s other secondary school, Outwood Academy Portland to raise standards and transform lives of the children in the community. In December 2007 the school was rebuilt to provide a state of the art learning environment with excellent facilities for learning.
Outwood Academy Valley is one of 23 secondary schools in Outwood Grange Academies Trust; where students love to learn and are motivated to achieve. Being part of the Trust means that all staff have access to excellent opportunities for professional development at all levels, with scope to build a career across a range of schools. Outwood Academy Valley achieved fantastic results with 83.6% achieving 4+ in English and Maths and 70% achieving 5+ in both subjects.
You will be required to support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring in order to maximise student attainment. You will monitor all students in the year group, until they leave the academy in Year 11, both academically and pastorally. You will work closely with the Inclusion Team and the Vice Principal Deep Support on Intervention Strategies to support the academic achievement of all students. Your role will have emphasis on intervention and student tracking throughout the day using the school’s “Praising Stars” system. You will attend case conferences and other meetings regarding students in your year alongside preparing referrals and reports for those students identified as needing intervention.
You will contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration and mutual support in the school which promotes equality within, and values the diversity of the school community.
