Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth aims to give children a first-class education and an excellent start in life. This Academy is being rapidly transformed and ensures a strong emphasis on raising standards, securing academic achievement and raising aspiration. You can help us deliver this transformation and become part of an enthusiastic team, building a bright future for its community in the market town of Stockton-on-Tees.
We are looking to appoint a motivated individual as our Bridge Co-ordinator from September 2021. Working with young people and supporting them to achieve their full potential, the Inclusion Team puts students first and supports them to overcome their barriers to learning and make progress in all areas of the curriculum. The Bridge Co-ordinator will promote the learning and welfare of vulnerable students who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to take part in classroom learning for short periods of time. Liaising with teachers over subject specific work, the Bridge Co-ordinator will assist students in small groups or one to one with their study skills and support re-integration back into the classroom. The Bridge Co-ordinator will produce and deliver packages of support for vulnerable and/or emotional students e.g. anger management, social skills and self-esteem.
Candidates should have experience of working with and providing support to vulnerable students. They will also need excellent communication skills, organisational/admin ability, and be enthusiastic and flexible. The ability to contribute positively to the work of the team is vital as is the ability to work independently and use own initiative.
Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
All offers of employment will be subject to enhanced DBS Check.
The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools and you will be joining a highly innovative, inspirational and ambitious organisation. The Trust guarantees every member of staff CPD and development opportunities.
